This event has special meaning for me as I return to Wilkes-Barre, my former hometown where I lived for 17 years – longer than I’ve lived anywhere – to talk about what went into writing “Blood Red Syrah.” I created this novel from the almost five years I lived and worked as a newspaper columnist (and briefly in a boutique winery) in Central Coastal California wine country before returning to Northeastern Pennsylvania.
